Lotte Wellfood announced on January 14 that its sugar-free and no-added-sugar brand 'Zero' has surpassed 1 billion won in cumulative sales. Since its launch in May 2022, the brand has consistently exceeded its annual sales targets, according to the company.
The Zero brand, originally focused on sugar-free beverages, has expanded its presence by introducing food products, bringing the sugar-free trend from drinks to the food category. The product lineup now includes a total of 19 items in categories such as snacks, ice cream, and dairy. The brand's collaboration with popular idol group NewJeans has also helped increase its visibility and generate buzz.
The 'Zero Choco Pie,' launched in October last year, sold 6 million packs (500,000 cases) in just 50 days, becoming a hit. Choco Pie was identified in consumer surveys as the top desired product for the Zero concept, and after two years of research and development, the company introduced a sugar-free version with marshmallows and chocolate.
Following its launch in the second half of 2022, which saw over 16 billion won in sales, the Zero brand recorded more than 50 billion won in sales last year, demonstrating strong growth. Lotte Wellfood plans to continue expanding the product lineup and enhance its marketing efforts to strengthen the Zero brand.
A company representative stated, "The Zero brand has broadened options for consumers who prefer not to consume excessive amounts of sugar. We will do our best to offer products that satisfy even more consumers."
