Min Hee-jin has addressed the allegations regarding her involvement in a complaint filed with the Ministry of Employment and Labor related to workplace harassment by NewJeans member Hani.

On January 16, Min Hee-jin clarified through her channel that she did not initiate or encourage any investigation into Hani's claims of workplace harassment. She firmly denied the accusations, stating, "I do not know the relevant government officials, and I have never instructed or requested anything from them. The current reports are nothing but false information and speculative fiction."

She continued, "The message I received from my uncle on that date was unexpected, and if you look at the entire conversation, you will see that there was no discussion about the issue on that day, nor were any relevant conversations had before or after that. In fact, I was the one being advised, not the one advising others. If you read the conversation from the following day, you would see the situation is entirely the opposite. It seems that the article was intentionally written to make me appear as the speaker and the one who caused confusion, which I consider a serious violation of journalistic ethics."

Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that Min Hee-jin had exchanged suspicious messages with Hani's uncle, A, on Telegram regarding the Ministry of Employment and Labor investigation in September of the previous year.

Min Hee-jin shared the following on her social media:

"Hello, I see you're continuing to publish false reports. I have to ask you this: I don't know any government officials, and I have never instructed or requested anything from them. The current content is all false information, pure speculation, and fiction.

The message I received from my uncle on that date was unexpected, and if you read the entire conversation, you will see that I was not the speaker on that date, nor did I initiate the conversation. In fact, I was the one being advised.

Both this article and the previous one have reconstructed the conversation with irrelevant content and presented it as if the subsequent conversation had a basis, even using screenshots to make it appear factual. If you read the conversation from the following day, you would know that the situation was entirely the opposite. Writing it in such a way to make me appear as the instigator and the one responsible for the misunderstanding is a serious violation of journalistic ethics. The previous article was also based on false facts and speculative fiction.

Reporting based on baseless content, without verification, and presenting it as established fact raises suspicion that the media outlet is being influenced by Hive. Before you issue a request for a rebuttal, isn’t it your responsibility to verify the information first? I want to ask whether it’s acceptable for journalists to defame and slander an individual like this.

I believe you should delete the article and apologize to me."
