The high level of explicit content in the drama Wongeong, simultaneously airing on tvN and TVING, has become a point of controversy. Allegations have arisen that the explicit scenes, involving actors Cha Ju-young and Lee I-dam, were broadcast using computer-generated graphics (CG) and a body double, without the actors' consent.

The drama Wongeong became a hot topic after its first two episodes, which featured daring nudity from the lead actors. While tvN removed the explicit content to fit a 15+ rating, TVING included the full scenes, intended for a 19+ audience.

This led to questions about whether the explicit scenes were necessary for the story, with some arguing that the scenes could have been removed without affecting the viewers' understanding of the plot. It was also revealed that the actors wore clothes during filming, with a body double later stripping off and the scene being edited with CG. Reports suggested that the actors' agencies requested the scenes be cut, but the production team reportedly did not accept this request.

Director Kim Sang-ho, who helmed Wongeong, clarified on the 16th in an interview with Hankyung.com, stating, "The script did not specify explicit scenes. Rather than being a directorial decision, the inclusion of such scenes was due to a demand from the channel." He pointed out that the 19+ rating from TVING played a role in the inclusion of the explicit content.

As of three hours after TVING's initial response to a query, the streaming platform has yet to provide a follow-up comment.
